Elon Musk decried Democratic Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan’s calls to allow transgender surgeries and procedures for minors.
Flanagan called the procedures “life-saving healthcare” and urged adults to “listen and believe” children who come out as transgender. Musk replied to the video, saying many of these children are “fed propaganda by adults” and should not receive these procedures.
Decades of research show that anywhere from 65 to 94 percent of transgender kids eventually cease to follow those identities in adulthood, according to KHN. Medical professionals historically discouraged kids from undergoing cross-gender hormones, puberty blockers or surgeries.
Clarity tweeted, “MN Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan on parenting and children changing their gender…’When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That’s what it means to be a good parent.’”

Musk responded, “Not when they’re fed propaganda by adults. Moreover, every child goes through an identity crisis before their personality/identity crystallizes. Therefore, we shouldn’t allow severe, irreversible surgery or sterilizing drugs that they may regret until at least age 18.”
