Ron DeSantis infuriated Anthony Fauci when he rejected his pandemic lockdowns and mandates.

But time ultimately proved Fauci wrong.

And Ron DeSantis just called attention to the one anniversary that Anthony Fauci wants you to forget.

Anthony Fauci became a household name during the pandemic and quickly turned into the most controversial public figures in the country.

On March 16, 2020, Anthony Fauci promised the American people that it would only take “15 days to slow the spread” when he announced the first round of lockdowns during Trump’s Presidency.

Of course, that turned out to be a lie, and two years later Fauci told Americans the only way to end the pandemic was if everyone got fully vaccinated.

Emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request showed that even though Fauci knew masks were not effective at preventing the spread of COVID, he pushed for mandatory mask mandates in public places.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was the first official to reject Fauci’s lockdowns and reopen the state.

DeSantis also banned masks and vaccine mandates in Florida and sued Joe Biden over his illegal federal vaccine mandate.

After he wrecked the country during the pandemic, Anthony Fauci retired in December to try and avoid any accountability.

But on Thursday, DeSantis held a press conference for the three-year anniversary of Fauci’s “15 days to slow the spread” big lie.

“We are here looking at this three years out and it’s important to say the experts that designed these policies and that were hampering everybody — they were wrong about almost everything,” DeSantis said.

“And so here we are three years later, as I mentioned, they’re still clinging to failed policies,” DeSantis said.

He pointed out how Democrats forced businesses and schools to close but had no problem with hundreds of thousands of Black Lives Matter protesters gathering in the streets.

“Even though they’ve gotten hundreds or thousands of people together, that was fine,” he said.

“They actually wrote a letter saying this,” he continued, before adding “in the same letter they said it’s fine to protest with BLM but that does not mean it’s OK to protest against lockdowns or other things that you may [oppose].”

“So you know, this was presumably, a woke virus,” DeSantis added.

While other states implemented heavy-handed lockdowns and mandates, DeSantis kept Florida’s businesses open despite facing enormous pressure from Democrats and the national media that smeared him as “Ron DeathSantis.”

“We were not going to let this state descend into a Faucian dystopia, not on our watch,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis said numerous businesses “would have failed” in Florida if he implemented the “policies of other states.”

But Florida’s pro-freedom policies “saved countless jobs in the state.”

However, DeSantis said the lockdowns are going to negatively impact the economy for “quite some time.”

“We’re going to be living with the consequences for quite some time,” DeSantis said. “I don’t see inflation going back down to 2% any time soon.”

DeSantis shared a clip from the presser on social media.

“Many of our current problems – from high inflation, rising interest rates & skyrocketing debt – stem from the failures of the expert class in the response to COVID,” DeSantis wrote in a post on Twitter where he shared a clip from his press conference. “As we reflect on the 3-year anniversary of 15 Days to Slow the Spread, we must never let it happen again.”
