A business associate of Hunter Biden is being sought out for congressional testimony about more than $1 million that he transferred to members of the Biden family, which may ultimately have come from a Chinese company.
The House Oversight Committee revealed the possible Chinese payments Thursday amid a wide-ranging investigation into the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.
In a statement, the committee’s chairman, Representative James Comer (R-KY), said the business associate, John “Rob” Walker, has become a “key witness” in the investigation, Fox News reported. Comer asked Walker to schedule a time to sit for a transcribed interview by March 24.
“When speaking about dealings with the Biden family, Rob Walker once said that exposing him would ‘bury all of us man.’ Why?” Comer wrote. “The Oversight Committee has many questions for Rob Walker and we look forward to getting answers for the American people.”
The committee’s Thursday memo suggested that in 2017, after Walker received a $3 million wire from a Chinese energy firm, State Energy HK Limited, he wired around a third of that money to family members of then-former Vice President Joe Biden over the course of three months.
Using bank records obtained by subpoena, the committee found that an account associated with Walker transferred a total of over $1.06 million to accounts associated with Joe Biden’s son, Hunter; brother, James; and Hallie Biden, widow of Joe Biden’s late son Beau.
“It is unclear what services were provided by the Biden family to obtain this exorbitant amount of China cash,” Comer said.

Fox reported that a spokesperson for Hunter Biden’s legal team confirmed that the accounts listed by Comer “belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie,” emphasizing they belonged to “nobody else.”
The spokesperson added, “Here we go again as Representative Comer takes something old and tries to make it new by wrapping it in a wild and baseless right-wing conspiracy.”
