The city of Paris saw a shocking display of inappropriateness at the La Nuit des Fiertés gay pride event, and it was supported by none other than The Walt Disney Company.
The event was organized by MAG Jeunes LGBT+, a group catering to LGBTQ individuals between the ages of 15 and 30, and it included a room for drag shows and another for dancing. Cosmetics companies Sephora and Nyx, owned by L’Oreal, were also listed as sponsors.
One of the special guests of the event was a transgender prostitute who went by the name of “Icy Diamond.” The individual even tweeted a video offering sexual favors in the city hall bathroom, which was later banned for violating Twitter’s terms of service.
Disney has been increasingly pushing for LGBTQ activism and representation in their content. In the past year, the company has gone against Florida’s anti-grooming Parental Rights in Education law, added multiple transgender characters in their children’s shows, and launched an LGBTQ-themed apparel line. They have also been pushing woke politics in their streaming entertainment, including the animated series “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which teaches kids about reparations for slavery and systemic racism.
However, supporting an event that includes a transgender prostitute offering sexual favors is a step too far. It raises questions about the company’s priorities and values. What kind of message does this send to children and families who look up to Disney for entertainment and guidance?
The consequences of these actions are yet to be seen, but it is important for companies like Disney to understand the impact they have on society and act responsibly.
