The office of Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron Desantis, made an announcement on Tuesday that Hyatt Regency Miami’s alcohol license is getting revoked because the hotel organized a “sexually explicit show with children present.”
The GOP Governor’s office filed an official complaint against the hotel with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The complaint noted that the event that was organized on December 27 last year was promoted as suitable for “all ages” and had no prior warning for the attendees regarding the sexual nature of the event.
While responding to the promotions of the show, the DeSantis administration issued a notice as a warning to the hotel during that time.
The notice stated:
“Sexually explicit drag show performances constitute public nuisances, lewd activity, and disorderly conduct when minors are in attendance.”
After the warning, the hotel started advertising the show as “recommended for 18+ audiences,” however, minors were still allowed to attend along with an adult.
The complaint added:
“During the show and in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age, performers appeared on stage wearing sexually suggestive clothing and prosthetic female genitalia.”
The complaint also highlighted multiple occurrences which seemed vulgur and indecent as it noted:
“‘Intentionally’ exposing prosthetic female breasts and genitalia to the audience.
‘Intentionally’ exposing performers’ buttocks to the audience.
‘Stimulating masturbation through performers’ digitally penetrating prosthetic female genitals.’
‘Graphic depictions of childbirth and/or abortion.’”
Governor DeSantis is revoking the liquor license of the Hyatt Regency Miami for hosting a “Sexually Explicit” show with children present.

Bryan Griffin, Governor Ron DeSantis’ Press Secretary, disclosed that DeSantis believes:
“Sexually explicit content is not appropriate to display to children and doing so violates Florida law. Governor DeSantis stands up for the innocence of children in the classroom and throughout Florida.”
