The View host Sunny Hostin faced ridicule for suggesting that the solar eclipse is a sign of man-made climate change.
Yes, really.
Hostin made the comments on the day that tens of millions of Americans gathered to watch the total eclipse of the Sun, which occurs on Earth every 18 months on average.
Hostin began by blathering about earthquakes in New York and how trillions of cicadas will soon be emerging from the ground across America.
This is because the emergence of two groups of the insect will coincide for the first time since 1803, a completely natural phenomenon.
A flustered Whoopi Goldberg had to correct Hostin when her co-host suggested this was a novel event.
“But I will say all those things together would maybe lead one to believe that you know either climate change exists or something is really going on,” said Hostin.
“Earthquakes are not at the mercy of climate change, it’s underground,” pointed out Joy Behar.
“It happens and the eclipse they’ve known about the eclipse coming because eclipses happen,” Golderberg corrected Hostin.
Respondents on X had a field day.
As we previously highlighted, Hostin was also ridiculed for still calling for reparations despite it emerging that her ancestors were actually white European slave owners.
