TikTok CEO Shou Chew refused to answer questions on Thursday about whether the Chinese government has influence over the popular social media app as lawmakers mull a ban on the platform.
Chew was walking out of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., when he was asked nine times about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) relationship with the app.
“Mr. Chew, can you say with 100% certainty that the Chinese government does not have any influence over TikTok? Can you say with 100% certainty that the Chinese government does not have any influence over TikTok?” FOX Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn asked.
Vaughn asked Chew the question over and over, but he refused to answer.

Chew slammed the legislation on Wednesday, declaring, “This legislation, if signed into law, will lead to a ban of TikTok in the United States. Even the bill sponsors admit that that’s their goal. This bill gives more power to a handful of other social media companies.”
“You will also take billions of dollars out of the pockets of creators in small businesses. You will put more than 300,000 American jobs at risk, and it will take away your TikTok, and we know how important TikTok is to all of you,” he complained.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin pushed back against Chew, writing:
Your CEO leaves out the inconvenient truth that TikTok is used adamantly by cartels to recruit US juveniles to human smuggle on their behalf, and it’s also used outside the US by smugglers/cartels to give detailed guides to migrants on how to get to the U.S. and cross illegally.
CBS/60 Minutes had a great piece last month showing how illegal aliens from China got step by step detailed instructions for hiring human smugglers and detailed directions to a gap in the border wall to cross into San Diego sector – all on TikTok.

TikTok CEO asked — “Why won’t you sell?”
“It’s not feasible,” & “would lead to banning of the app in the country.”
So, TikTok admits that it would rather sacrifice its U.S. users & revenue, than disconnect itself from a genocidal communist regime.
