1 – ‘Positive trends’: VP Harris claims early success with border strategy
The Washington Examiner reports: A White House initiative to address the causes for millions of Central Americans to flee to the United States over the past decade has had a “positive impact” in reducing the flow of immigrants from the region, according to the Biden administration.

Vice President Kamala Harris announced Monday afternoon that the Department of Homeland Security had seen a decline in the number of immigrants encountered attempting to enter the country without authorization since President Joe Biden tasked her with improving conditions in three countries with high sending rates.

“We are already beginning to see positive trends. Data from the Department of Homeland Security shows that the number of migrants from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, where our root causes efforts have been focused, has significantly declined over the last 18 months,” Harris said during a White House news conference. “Now, of course, this could change over time, and we will continue to monitor these trends, but this gives us an indication of the positive impact our work has had thus far.”

DHS data published on U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s website show that nearly 95,000 people from Central America’s Northern Triangle region — El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras — were encountered illegally crossing the border or lacked documents to cross at a port of entry in July 2021.

2 – US Skiers to Don Climate Change-Themed Race Suits at Worlds
Breitbart reports: Looking cool is just the tip of the iceberg for Mikaela Shiffrin, Travis Ganong and the rest of the U.S. ski team when they debut new race suits at the world championships.

Even more, they want everyone thinking about climate change.

The team’s predominantly blue-and-white suits depict an image of ice chunks floating in the ocean. It’s a concept based on a satellite photo of icebergs breaking due to high temperatures. The suit was designed in collaboration with Kappa, the team’s technical apparel sponsor, and the nonprofit organization Protect Our Winters (POW).

The Americans will wear the suits throughout the world championships in Courchevel and Meribel, France, which start Monday with a women’s Alpine combined race and end Feb. 19.

3 – Disney (Groomers) slammed for ‘anti-White propaganda’ in show for kids
Fox News reports: A reboot of the Disney (Groomers) show “The Proud Family” is receiving backlash over a rap in a recent episode of the cartoon featuring kids singing about slavery and reparations, arguing that America “owes” black Americans because America “still has not atoned for” its systemic prejudice, racism and White supremacy.

“This country was built on slavery, which means slaves built this country,” the song repeatedly stated in the Disney+ episode of “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which reviewed the history of Juneteenth.

“The descendants of slaves continue to build it, slaves built this country and we the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for,” the children chanted.

“We made your families rich,” the sound continues. “From the southern plantation heirs to the northern bankers to the New England ship owners, the founding fathers, former presidents, current senators, the Illuminati, the New World Order.”
