An Ohio toddler is not expected to recover after she was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition Saturday night.
The hospital called homicide detectives in early Sunday morning for a suspicious injury and possible neglect of the 2-year-old girl, WBNS reports.
Hospital staff said the girl was in cardiac arrest when she arrived at the hospital at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and had visible injuries.
The initial 911 call referenced a child no breathing, police said.
Columbus Police Commander Mark Denner said there were other children in the home and that they were taken to Franklin County Children Services while the investigation takes place.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
