Nikki Haley To Take On Trump, Will Announce She’s Running For President On Feb 15

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, after taking a few swipes at former President Donald Trump to get some publicity, will formally announce she is running for president and will officially throw her hat in the ring for the Republican nomination on February 15 according to multiple media reports.

The Post and Courier saw an invitation to her kickoff event: “According to an invitation soon going out to her backers, Haley’s advertised “special announcement” will come Feb. 15 at The Shed at the Charleston Visitor Center, a downtown gathering spot that could draw hundreds of supporters into the heart of the city’s tourism district. The confirmation she is entering the race came Jan. 31 from a member of Haley’s inner circle.”

“It’s time for a new generation,” she said on social media recently. “It’s time for new leadership. And it’s time to take our country back. America is worth the fight — and we’re just getting started.”

Fox News Bret Baier interviewed Haley law week where she said:

 “Yes, we need to go in a new direction. And can I be that leader? Yes. I think I can be that leader.”

She has said she would not seek the nomination if Trump was in so many think she is already angling to be his Vice President.

Trump gave her his blessing saying in a recent interview.

“I talked to her for a little while. I said, ‘Look, you know, go by your heart if you want to run,’” Trump said.

“She called me and said she’d like to consider it, and I said you should do it.”

“Go by your heart if you want to run.”

“It could be a very narrow field depending on how people raise the money and get their messaging out.”
