In his latest video of the 2024 presidential campaign, former President Donald Trump announced his plan to end the “left-wing gender insanity” being pushed on children and protect them from chemical, physical, and emotional harm. He described the process of gender affirmation care as child abuse and vowed to revoke President Joe Biden’s policies on it.
Revoking Biden’s Policies on Gender Affirmation Care
In his statement, President Trump promised to revoke President Biden’s “cruel policies on so-called ‘gender affirming care’,” which he described as a process that involves giving children puberty blockers, altering their physical appearance, and performing surgery on minors.
Ceasing Promotional Programs for Sex and Gender Transition
The former President also pledged to sign a new executive order that would instruct every federal agency to stop all programs that promote sex and gender transition at any age. He asked Congress to permanently stop federal taxpayer dollars from being used to promote or pay for these procedures.
Preventing Child Sexual Mutilation
President Trump also declared his intention to pass a law prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states and remove hospitals and healthcare providers that participate in the chemical or physical mutilation of minors from Medicaid and Government-run Medicare. He proposed creating a private right of action for victims to sue doctors who perform these procedures on minors.
Investigating Big Pharma and Hospitals
The former President directed the Department of Justice to investigate Big Pharma and hospital networks to determine whether they have covered up the long-term side effects of sex transitions, illegally marketed hormones and puberty blockers, or engaged in other unethical practices.
Protecting Children from Gender Insanity
President Trump also directed the Department of Education to inform states and school districts that teachers or school officials who suggest to a child that they could be trapped in the wrong body will face consequences, including potential civil rights violations for sex discrimination and the loss of federal funding. He asked Congress to pass a bill that recognizes only male and female genders assigned at birth, prohibits men from participating in women’s sports, and protects the rights of parents to make decisions about their children’s gender identity.
President Biden’s Initiative to Prevent LGBTQI+ Youth Suicide
In contrast to President Trump’s stance, President Biden launched an initiative to protect children across America and prevent LGBTQI+ youth suicide by reducing the risk of exposure to conversion therapy. The President charged the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with leading this initiative and exploring guidance to clarify that federally-funded programs cannot offer conversion therapy. He also promised to increase public awareness about the dangers of conversion therapy, provide training and technical assistance to healthcare providers, and expand support for survivors.
Safeguarding Health Care for LGBTQI+ Children
President Biden’s initiative charges HHS to work with states to promote expanded access to gender-mutilation care and fighting back against state-level attacks on LGBTQI+ children. The Department of Justice has also intervened in lawsuits challenging state laws that ban transgender children from accessing gender-mutilation health care and participating in school activities.
