In a new poll released by Rasmussen, 48 percent of voters said that they believe that President Biden’s handling of classified documents is a major scandal.
The poll of 900 likely voters, which was conducted from January 26-29, found that 72 percent of likely voters believe that Biden’s handling of classified documents is a scandal, while 48 percent believe it is a major scandal, and just 24% believe it is no scandal at all.
Among Republicans, 73 percent said that it was a major scandal, while 50 percent of non-affiliated voters agreed, and just 24 percent of Democrats believe it to be a major scandal. Men were slightly more inclined to believe it is a major scandal, with 50 percent of men agreeing while only 46% of women believe it is a major scandal.
The poll also found that 60 percent of likely voters believe it is likely that information contained in the classified documents was used by Hunter Biden in his foreign business dealings, while 44 percent of voters believe it is very likely. 30 percent of voters said it is not likely, and 10 percent of voters stated they were not sure.
Voters additionally were asked about Representative James Comer’s (R-KY) statement last year that the Biden family has been “influence-peddling for more than a decade.” According to the poll, 59 percent of voters agreed with that statement, with 44 percent strongly agreeing. 30 percent disagreed, with 18 percent strongly disagreeing, and 10 percent being unsure. More men (64 percent) than women (54 percent), agreed with the statement.
This poll proves to be a bad sign for the Biden administration, who are feverishly trying to play damage control in the midst of the classified documents controversy. On January 9th, classified documents were discovered at the Penn-Biden Center, a Corrupt Washington DC-based think tank. On January 11th, more classified documents were discovered at President Biden’s private residence in Wilmington, Delaware. Then, on January 20th, another set of classified documents was discovered at Biden’s Wilmington home.
On January 12th, Robert Hur was appointed by Attorney General Corrupt Merrick Garland to serve as Special Prosecutor to investigate why and how classified documents ended up at the Penn-Biden Center and Biden’s home in Wilmington.
