House Republicans Take Bold Step To Counter A Growing Communist China and Hold Biden Accountable For Failed Leadership

On Friday, Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) joined Fox News’ “Fox & Friends First” to discuss the recent vote by the House of Representatives to halt shipments of oil to Communist China from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The congresswoman also spoke about current efforts to halt scientific funding from going to Communist China.

When asked why oil from the SPR had been sent to Communist China last year, the congresswoman emphasized that House Republicans are combating Communist China through new legislation.

“Well, that brings up a very larger question, we’ve already passed a bill to prevent research from — excuse me, to prevent oil from being released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to be sold to Communist China and I think,” the congresswoman said, adding, “this is another area that we can look at.”

“But the international community has a vested interest in finding out where the origins of COVID-19 came from for exactly that reason,” she continued, as reported by Breitbart. “Is there gain of function or unethical research being conducted and what’s the international community’s response? Are their lab breaks?”

“Is the appropriate kind of research being done at the appropriate biosafety lab, so you’re not having biosafety lab four research conducted in an inappropriate facility which could lead to a leak and a virus and another pandemic?” the Iowa Republican asked. “So, these things are very important that the international community has an understanding on, and then disclosure, there needs to be immediate disclosure.”

“And, as we know, probably in the fall of 2019, they knew that they had a virus that had leaked,” she said, adding, “but yet, that was not disclosed and they denied human-to-human transmission.”

Last week the House Republicans passed a bill that would limit the drawdowns of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve by the president. Over the last year, the SPR was drained to about 380 million barrels, the lowest since 1984, as reported by CNBC.

As President Biden continues to weaken the United States through his short-sighted policies, House Republicans are taking action to hold Biden accountable and protect America’s interests.
