U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) – the congressman notorious for pushing the Russia-Trump Collusion Hoax – was just confronted about his pushing of the hoax by Fake News CNN.
The confrontation came on Sunday when Schiff appeared on Fake News CNN’s State of the Union.
There, host Dana Bash said:
You said that there was direct evidence of the fact that Donald Trump colluded with Russia back in 2016. Special Counsel Robert Mueller said in his report, quote, “The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government.” Republicans argue that is proof that you used your position on the intelligence community to potentially mislead Americans, which is why you should not be on the intelligence community.”
Schiff’s Fake News CNN appearance comes after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently removed Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee.
McCarthy did so specifically because of the Russia Collusion Hoax, which McCarthy alleges Schiff used to mislead the American people.
Accordingly, Schiff, during his Fake News CNN appearance, was provided the perfect opportunity to backtrack with regard to his pushing of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
But, Schiff refused.
“That is collusion”
Schiff, in response to Bash’s statement, insisted that Russia-Trump collusion happened.
He begins by disputing Bash’s reading of the Mueller report, claiming that Mueller did not reach a conclusion with regard to whether Trump colluded with Russia. And, from there, Schiff goes on to argue that Mueller actually did find Russia-Trump collusion.
[W]hat [Mueller] does find, and it is what we found in our investigation, that Donald Trump’s campaign manager was sharing internal campaign polling data and their strategy for key battleground states with an agent of Russian intelligence while that same unit of Russian intelligence was helping the Trump campaign, both with a hacking and a dumping operation, as well as a social media operation to elect Donald Trump.
Schiff claimed, “To most Americans, that is collusion.”
U.S. Senator Schiff?
Schiff recently announced a 2024 campaign for the U.S. Senate.
In a campaign ad that he released, he included footage of Trump’s first impeachment, from 2019, in which Schiff was the House Democrats’ lead prosecutor. Schiff, in response, was promptly hit with an ethics complaint alleging that he is using “official resources for political purposes.”
But, what this demonstrates is that Schiff is one of these politicians who is now basing his political career on being anti-Trump. So, the fact that he continues to push the Russia-Trump collusion narrative – despite the fact that it has been debunked and, accordingly, dropped by most Democrats – suggests that this sort of stuff – even if false – really resonates with his base – whoever that may be.
