Former President Donald J. Trump has outlined his comprehensive education policy platform, aimed at “restoring power to American parents” and cutting funding to schools and programs promoting left-wing ideologies like Critical Racist Theory and gender ideology, as well as keeping boys out of girls’ sports.
In a statement, Trump announced that his “plan to save American education” is necessary because “our public schools have been taken over by the radical left maniacs.” He went on to pledge to “cut federal funding for any school or program pushing Critical Racist Theory, gender ideology, or other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content onto our children.”
The former president also vowed to direct the Department of Justice and Education to open civil rights investigations into any school district that has engaged in race-based discrimination. He likened Marxism being taught in schools to an “established religion” that is contrary to the Judeo-Christian values that are deeply seeded in the fabric of Western civilization.
Trump also promised to “aggressively pursue potential violations of the establishment clause and the free exercise clause of the constitution.” He also announced that on day one of his presidency, he would begin to find and remove the radical zealots and Marxists who have infiltrated the federal Department of Education.
Trump vowed to veto any effort to weaponize civic education and to create a new credentialing body that would be the “gold standard” for certifying teachers who embrace patriotic values, support American way of life, and understand that their job is to educate students and not to indoctrinate them.
Additionally, school districts and states that “abolish teacher tenure from grades K-12,” “cut the bloated number of school administrators,” “Adopt a parental bill of rights,” and establish elections for school principals by parents at the local level will be rewarded with “massive funding preferences and favorable treatment.”
In conclusion, Trump stated that when he is president, he will put parents back in charge and give them the final say. He will get back to teaching reading, writing, and math and will give American children the high-quality, pro-American education they deserve.
