An age-old rule is that you never give an enemy that knife that he will use to cut your throat with and the overwhelming majority of House Republicans just handed Joe Biden a razor-sharp blade.
In a vote that doesn’t bode well for the future of free speech, all but a handful of GOP lawmakers joined most Democrats to pass the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act,” a bill ostensibly banning the Chinese social media app TikTok, a legitimate security risk that has done much to poison the minds of America’s youth.
It will be a vote that they could come to regret very soon for the powers given to the most authoritarian president in the nation’s history that were buried in a bill that at face value, seemed to be an appropriate response to deal with the highly controversial platform which could be forced to sell if it is to continue to operate in the United States.
The bill is as Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) pointed out is a “Trojan horse” that Biden could use to ban websites, well beyond the bill’s stated purpose and a very dangerous tool to hand Democrats in an election year that is critical for their continuing control of the U.S. government.
The so-called TikTok ban is a trojan horse.
The President will be given the power to ban WEB SITES, not just Apps.
The person breaking the new law is deemed to be the U.S. (or offshore) INTERNET HOSTING SERVICE or App Store, not the “foreign adversary.”https://t.co/iKtAQFGeQH pic.twitter.com/P26hEbzQrf

Massie, who is one of the Republicans who voted against the bill, points out the section that states that a “foreign adversary controlled application” could be a “website, desktop application, mobile application, or augmented or immersive technology application” that is “determined by the President to present a significant threat to the national security of the United States.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who also opposed giving Biden new censorship powers gave an impassioned speech from the House floor, warning of the potential for abuse.
As the only member of Congress who has ever been banned from social media, I oppose today’s TikTok ban bill.
This bill would open Pandora’s box and create a slippery slope for future government censorship of Americans and our precious First Amendment. pic.twitter.com/I2jDTxjpjg

It fell on deaf ears with all but 15 GOP House members who voted to send the bill to the Senate where it will easily pass with the help of Mitch McConnell’s RINO “rat pack” and then head to Biden’s desk.
Thank these 15 Republicans for voting against the “TikTok Ban” bill this week that would give Presidents broad authority to ban popular social media apps they deem to be controlled by foreign adversaries.
I believe this bill will be abused to infringe on the rights of Americans. pic.twitter.com/XN4VvsxJSW

How bad is the bill? The fact that crooked crone Nancy Pelosi is celebrating says it all.

“This is not an attempt to ban TikTok, it’s an attempt to make TikTok better,” said the wicked former Speaker who will use any means necessary to retain political power for her thoroughly rotten party and its leader.
Some of the Republicans were likely also motivated by TikTok’s negative impact on the younger generation and there is indeed a right to be concerned about the role that the app plays in promoting sexual depravity, racism, anti-Semitism, and the transgender industrial complex. But the solution isn’t handing over more censorship power to the most anti-free speech party in history and its leader who has no regard for the Constitutional protections guaranteed to ALL Americans.
Of course, encouraging young children to become homosexuals and tranvestites and encouraging them to undergo sexually mutilating surgery is a terrible, evil thing but when it’s being sanctioned at the highest levels of government TikTok is the least of our problems.
Most of the same Republicans will almost certainly vote to approve the tens of billions of dollars to the corrupt Zelensky regime in Ukraine when it finally makes its way to the House floor in the near future.
Duped? Misguided? Stupid? Or is it something even worse like the whole “democracy” thing is just an elaborate sham and there is only ONE party in Washington D.C. – the uniparty.
