The false narrative that President Donald J. Trump is like Hitler may have temporarily died down but it could be getting a jump start thanks to one of his disgruntled former underlings.
One time White House Chief of Staff John Kelly who has never passed up a chance to take cheap shots at his former boss told CNN’s Jim Sciutto that the presumptive Republican nominee was quite the fan of Der Führer, feeding the ravenous appetite of the de facto state-run media outlet for Trump-Hitler fodder.
In a column pimping his new book, the CNN reporter gives attention to Kelly’s wild-assed claims that Trump said that the murderous Nazi leader had his good points, an allegation that will guarantee the former military man plenty of face time on CNN and in the rest of the crooked media as the latest iteration of the Trump-Hitler hoax will soon be receiving saturation coverage.
Here’s the part that Donald Trump praises Adolf Hitler, according to retired Gen. John Kelly, who served as Trump’s chief of staff. This stuff isn’t normal. NO president should be praising dictators — past and present — like this. Absolutely crazy. This is who he is. pic.twitter.com/jnyYxahkId

“He said, ‘Well, but Hitler did some good things.’ I said, ‘Well, what?’ And he said, ‘Well, [Hitler] rebuilt the economy.’ But what did he do with that rebuilt economy? He turned it against his own people and against the world. And I said, ‘Sir, you can never say anything good about the guy. Nothing,’” Kelly said, according to Sciutto. “I mean, Mussolini was a great guy in comparison.”
“It’s pretty hard to believe he missed the Holocaust, though, and pretty hard to understand how he missed the 400,000 American GIs that were killed in the European theater,” Sciutto said Kelly told him. “But I think it’s more, again, the tough guy thing.”
Promoting smears against his former boss is nothing new to Kelly who has claimed that the pro-military Republican referred to fallen heroes as “suckers” and “losers.”
The quotes should serve as a reminder to Trump that he needs to be much more picky with his hiring practices the second time around if he wins the election.
Kelly may well be a decorated retired Marine general but he continues to prove that he’s a four-star rat when it comes to Trump, as were other former military men who he hired only to see them all stab him in the back. James “Mad Dog” Mattis, the ex-defense secretary and another retired USMC general, and retired Army general H.R. McMaster both turned against the former commander in chief.
Numerous others also were brought into the fold who would later betray Trump to varying degrees, none more severe than his former VP Mike Pence who even before he went native on January 6, 2021, had likely been undermining his boss for years.
Other turncoats of note: Bill Barr, former attorney general and media go-to-guy, General Mark “white rage” Milley, the bloodthirsty warmongering fanatic John Bolton, former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, defense secretary Mark Esper, Anthony “the Mooch” Scaramucci, current “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Omarosa are among the names.
The jury is still out on another former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows who may or may not be a snitch for special counsel Jack Smith.
In short, for all of the great things that Trump was able to accomplish amid constant obstruction of his agenda, his Achilles heel was his four-year run of bad luck when it came to high-profile hires.
Crying “Hitler!” to CNN should serve as another warning to Trump that if he manages to navigate the lawfare gauntlet laid out for him and whatever else that dirty Deep State operators may have cooked up, he needs to be far more judicious when it comes to staffing.
That would start with another former Trump official who appears to be clamoring for another spot in a new administration, former CIA director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
A borderline neocon cut from the same establishment cloth as Haley, the slimmed-down ex-bureaucrat appeared on Fox News last week and all but begged for a job if Trump returns to the White House which should be a flashing red light.
Trump prizes loyalty above all else and if there is a second chance, he needs to surround himself with only true believers, and all other applicants should have their resumes fed directly into the shredder.
