Donald Trump is working the border angle pretty good right now, spotlighting alleged crimes by illegal immigrants.
During a rally in Grand Rapids, MI, on Tuesday, Trump highlighted the Angel families who have lost family members to violence at the hands of illegals.
Biden has rarely recognized these families, which now has Trump imploring Biden to “say their names.”
Say It!
With Joe Biden’s loose border policies, we all knew that immigration would play a big part in the 2024 election cycle.
This will be immigration versus abortion, and Trump is already firing missiles at Biden.
During his rally, Trump tried to make this a national issue, which it actually is, as the Biden administration has been transporting illegals all over the country, far more than Governor Abbott has sent via bus to sanctuary cities.
Trump stated, “Every town is now a border town because Joe Biden has brought the chaos, carnage, and killing from all over the world and dumped it straight into our backyards.
“People are coming in [to the United States] from prisons and mental institutions.
“In Venezuela, the crime is down 67 percent from what it was a year and a half ago.
“Because they’re taking all of their gangs and all of their criminals and they’re depositing them into the United States of America.”
Three of the more famous cases are the deaths of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia, 22-year-old Leah Gomez, and 22-year-old Laken Riley.
During Biden’s State of the Union Address, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) gave a Laken Riley button to Biden, which he referred to when heckled by Greene, only Biden mispronounced her name as Lincoln, which only drew more outrage from the right.
Trump concluded, “No country can withstand this invasion,” and that is not hyperbole.
The influx of migrants is impacting this country on several fronts, driving down wages and raising the cost of entitlement programs for a nation that is already on the financial brink.
Democrats have been lucky in previous elections because the country as a whole was not buying into immigration as a national issue, but that has changed rather dramatically over the last four years, with immigration now top of mind for a significant percentage of voters, including Democrats.
