The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) announced that the remains discovered on January 17, 2023 in Rush Springs have been positively identified as those of 4-year-old Athena Brownfield.
Athena’s disappearance was reported by a postal carrier who found her 5-year-old sister wandering alone on January 10.
The investigation led to the arrest of her caretakers, married couple Ivon and Alysia Adams. Ivon faces charges of first-degree murder and child neglect, while Alysia has been charged with child neglect.
Alysia reportedly confessed that Ivon killed Athena by beating her on Christmas Day and buried her near a fence by their former residence in Rush Springs.
This is a breaking news update.
