Russia appears to be running out of patience on the Ukrainian front.
With more military aid recently approved and Russian supplies continuing to run low, it would appear that Russia is ready to go nuclear if the support of Ukraine continues.
Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the State Duma, issued a rather ominous message to the world on Sunday.
No More Support
Russia is more or less demanding that NATO allies abandon Ukraine and turn the country over to the Russians.
Now we know that will never happen, so the threat by Russia is a rather curious one.
After numerous allies, including the United States, offered more support for Ukraine, Volodin went nuclear, literally.
Volodin, a very close ally of Putin’s, stated, “Supplies of offensive weapons to the Kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe.
“If Washington and NATO supply weapons that would be used for striking peaceful cities and making attempts to seize our territory as they threaten to do, it would trigger a retaliation with more powerful weapons.”
In addition to aid from the United States, Germany has been asked to send its German-made Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine, which would be a game-changer for Ukraine.
While German diplomats believe the German government will approve the aid, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has already stated that Poland will send Leopard tanks from its supply if Germany does not.
French President Emmanuel Macron is also considering sending Leclerc battle tanks to Ukraine.
If that transfer leads to an escalation, however, France may back out of providing the aid to Ukraine.
Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) are now supporting sending our Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
Coons stated, “If it requires our sending some Abrams tanks in order to unlock getting the Leopard tanks from Germany, from Poland, from other allies, I would support that.”
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of Russia’s security council, has threatened to form a military alliance with “the nations that are fed up with the Americans and a pack of their castrated dogs.”
Medvedev has also warned that nuclear warfare is an option if Russia feels as though it has been pushed into a no-win scenario.
