The husband of Ana Walshe, a Massachusetts mother of three who has been missing for more than two weeks, has been charged with her murder, according to a warrant issued from Quincy District Court on Tuesday.
The arraignment of Brian Walshe could be as soon as 9 a.m. Wednesday, depending on defense attorney availability.
Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey declined to disclose what led to the murder charge, though he said in a video statement Tuesday that the “evidence in support” of the charge will likely be presented at the arraignment.
Walshe, 47, was first arrested on Jan. 8 for misleading police after he first reported his wife was “missing.” Since then, he has been held in custody on $500,000 bail.
Walshe is now being charged with his wife’s murder.
According to Brian, his wife, Ana Walshe, 39, was last seen leaving their home around 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day to take an Uber ride to the airport in Boston for a flight to Washington, D.C. However, police say she never took an Uber ride, and never left the house.
Instead, police searched a trash site and found trash bags with blood, a hatchet, a hacksaw, a rug and used cleaning supplies. Investigators also have evidence that Brian went to a Home Depot store and purchased about $450 worth of cleaning supplies and other items.
Brian also reportedly conducted searches on the internet on “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body” and how to dismember a body.
