REPORT: Pentagon Considering Back Pay for Discharged Troops

The Pentagon is taking considerable heat after the vaccine mandate for troops was lifted.

As far as most conservatives are concerned, military members should not have been separated in the first place.

Now reports are breaking that the Pentagon is considering reinstatement and backpay for those that refused the vaccine.

Special Circumstances

I get into this argument all the time online, but there is something about this vaccine that those taking the other side do not seem to get.

This, for all intents and purposes, was an experimental vaccine.

We had no long-term effect studies, but we did know that most people who were in good shape and younger were not experiencing serious problems from the virus.

And yes, I know military members get more shots and vaccines than people can count, but this is one that was unproven, and I would hope that we would have learned our lesson from the disastrous anthrax vaccine and using military members as lab rats.

The Pentagon now seems ready to start taking people back, which is smart considering how far below the normal recruitment numbers are right now.

Pentagon spokesperson Major Charlie Dietz stated, “All Service members and Veterans may apply at any time to the appropriate Discharge Review Board or Board for Correction for Military/Naval Records if they believe that there is an error or injustice in their records-to include those that were separated by the vaccine mandate.

“Regarding back pay, the Department is still exploring this and will provide its views on legislation of this nature at the appropriate time and through the appropriate process.”

Republicans are fighting to have them all reinstated if they wish, or to at least have their discharges changed to honorable discharge.

Former Vice President Mike Pence has taken been very passionate about supporting this cause, stating, “I think now that Secretary Austin has implemented what Congress passed into law, lifting the vaccine mandate on members of our armed forces, now I’m calling on the Biden administration and the Pentagon to reinstate every man and woman that was discharged from our armed forces because they refused to take the vaccine, and give them 100 percent back pay for the time after they were discharged.”

According to reports, roughly 8,500 members of the military were discharged over the vaccine.
