President Joe Biden faced ridicule following a gaffe at a White House press briefing. During the briefing, a journalist inquired with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre regarding the president’s call for Americans to support him in light of Arizona’s Supreme Court reinstating a nearly complete abortion ban in the state.
“I’m going to be careful because obviously he was talking about 2024,” Jean-Pierre responded.
However, one reporter chimed in, “Actually, he was talking about the 20th Century, as I recall…”
“Mmmm, mmhmm, OK,” Jean-Pierre responded sarcastically.

During a press conference on Wednesday, NBC News’ Peter Alexander asked, “What do you say to the people of Arizona right now who are witnessing a law go in place that dates back to the Civil War era.”
Biden responded, “Elect me, I’m in the 20th Century.”
