A teenager pulled a gun during a fight on a packed Florida beach in the midst of spring break this week and then ran through the crowd with the weapon in his hand.
“He’s got a gun. He’s got a gun,” people shouted as they ran in different directions on New Smyrna Beach on Thursday. A deputy from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office quickly intervened and barked orders at the gunman.
“Drop the f—–g gun. Drop the f—–g gun,” the deputy screamed at the suspect, who is seen in bodycam footage running from the officer.
The beach erupted into chaos, as multiple officers were chasing the gunman and spring breakers ran for their lives.
The gunman, later identified as 16-year-old Felixander Solis-Guzman, ran into the water until it was up to his knees and stood there for several minutes. He finally dropped the gun in the water, and after a tense standoff, surrendered with his hands up and was arrested.
Officers recovered the gun from the water, and also found 20 small plastic baggies of marijuana, which were in a large bag the teen was carrying.
Solis-Guzman is being held on multiple charges over the incident, and is being charged as an adult. He already has seven active no-bond warrants out of Orange County, including robbery with a firearm and violating his probation, the report states.
The alarming incident happened Thursday afternoon.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Department posted the video and announced:
SPRING BREAK ARREST: Deputies confronted and arrested an armed 16-year-old on the beach today after he pulled a gun in a crowd of spring breakers, then ran into the ocean.
State Attorney R.J. Larizza then announced in a statement that the teen will be charged as an adult:
Our office has filed adult charges against defendant Felixander Solis-Guzman. An order has been made to transfer him to the Volusia County Jail.
“This 16-year-old brought drugs and a gun to Volusia County during Spring Break,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said. “He will now face adult charges and serious consequences for his reckless actions. We welcome Spring Breakers, so long as they behave themselves.”
