Renowned constitutional expert and former Harvard Law School professor, Alan Dershowitz, expressed strong criticism towards Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Friday following the judge’s decision to allow her to continue prosecuting former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants.
Earlier in the day, Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruled that Willis was not disqualified and would remain on the Trump case. However, he acknowledged that the previous romantic relationship between Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade created an appearance of conflict of interest in the racketeering case. Consequently, the prosecutors were prohibited from overseeing the case unless either Willis or Wade resigned.
Later on Friday, Wade chose to resign. During an interview with Newsmax TV, Dershowitz heavily criticized Willis, asserting that there was “overwhelming” evidence suggesting that she had perjured herself on the stand by lying about the timeline of her relationship with Wade. Furthermore, Dershowitz claimed that she had financially benefited from this relationship.
“This ought to be a criminal investigation of Fani Willis and the two witnesses. I think we are well beyond disqualification,” Dershowitz said, adding that he didn’t know “if the judge would actually have the courage” to make such a ruling.

Alan Dershowitz stated the evidence is overwhelming to criminally prosecute Fani Willis:
• They had an affair before she hired him (perjury)
• She benefited financially (embezzlement)
• He was not qualified to do the job earning $700,000“This ought to be a criminal… pic.twitter.com/3A91vWq25l
