Now that former President Donald Trump is marching his way toward a hopeful victory in November, the nation wants to know who will be on his ticket this time around.
There have been a number of impressive names popping up on various, sometimes-leaked shortlists.
However, according to The Hill, one of his rivals, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now claims that Trump’s people once approached him about the possibility of running with the former president.
The bombshell news was revealed in a social media post published by Kennedy earlier this week.
What did he say?
Kennedy apparently felt the need to publish the information, which Trump and his circle have denied, after the former president has ramped up political attacks on RFK as the election nears.
“Pesident Trump calls me an ultra-left radical. I’m soooo liberal that his emissaries asked me to be his VP. I respectfully declined the offer. I am against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win. Judging by his new website, it looks like President Trump knows who actually can beat him,” Kennedy wrote in the post.

Kennedy was referencing a section of a pro-Trump Super PAC’s website that focused attacks on Kennedy’s political ideology.
The Hill noted:
Make America Great Again Inc., a pro-Trump super PAC, launched a website on Monday labeling Kennedy Jr. a “radical liberal” that highlights his views on tax policy, gun laws and the climate.
Kennedy’s assertion that he was questioned about possibly running with Trump was first reported by the New York Post in January. Again, Trump and his allies denied the allegations.
Social media reacts
Users across social media had plenty to say about the situation.
“Only Trump can ask you to be his VP, and that Bobby has not happened. As far as you being a far left radical you are on the record supporting reparations, banning guns, banning fossil fuels, supporting EV mandates, and zero restrictions on abortions. That’s pretty far left,” one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, “His emissaries? Why not tell us who? I suspect if anyone did ask Trump had no knowledge.”
While it’s safe to say that no matter what, it’s doubtful that Kennedy will be Trump’s VP, it looks like nobody will ever know which side is telling the truth on this one.
