President Joe Biden failed to acknowledge his estranged granddaughter Navy when speaking about his grandchildren at a White House event for Women’s History Month.
Biden has routinely claimed to have six grandchildren, omitting Navy, the 5-year-old daughter of his son Hunter Biden and former flame Lunden Alexis Roberts.
“I see a future for all of America, a future for my daughters, my four granddaughters — by the way, they’re incredible,” Biden said. “You think I’m kidding. I’m not.”
Roberts filed a paternity suit against Hunter in 2019, which was settled in 2020, though the case was later reopened when Hunter requested changes to child support payments.
In June 2023, Hunter settled the child support case, agreeing to give Navy some of his paintings.
“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” Biden stated previously.
“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” he added. “Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”
However, when recently speaking about his grandchildren at the White House, Biden did not mention Navy, drawing attention to the family estrangement.
