The No Labels centrist political party will not run a third-party candidate for the 2024 presidential election after failing to recruit a candidate, according to news reports Thursday.
“No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House,” Nancy Jacobson (pictured above), the group’s CEO, said in a statement, according to The Wall Street Journal. “No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down.”
No Labels has raised millions of dollars from donors on a list that has been kept private.
Early in this year’s presidential election cycle, the well funded group was consider a viable party to win the presidency or at least field a candidate good enough to win enough votes to cost the Democratic or Republican nominee the election.
