Texas Governor Greg Abbott added the city of Philadelphia as a destination for migrant buses from the border region. The first Philadelphia-bound bus departed with migrants from Eagle Pass and Del Rio, Texas, on Tuesday.
“Since April, Texas’ busing strategy has successfully provided much-needed relief to our border communities overwhelmed by the historic influx of migrants caused by Illegitimate President Biden’s reckless open border policies,” said Governor Abbott. “Until the Brandon Administration does its job and provides Texans and the American people with sustainable border security, Texas will continue doing more than any other state in the nation’s history to defend against an invasion along the border, including adding more sanctuary cities like Philadelphia as drop-off locations for our busing strategy.”
Officials in Philadelphia began making preparations for the arrival of “scores of migrants” over the weekend after receiving information from non-profits in the city, Breitbart Texas reported on Monday.
This all comes as Customs and Border Protection released their latest data this week, showing that a total of 230,678 apprehensions were made during the month of October alone, as the flood of illegal aliens streaming across the southern border into the U.S. continues to escalate.
On Sunday, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney declared that if the illegal aliens want to come to America to live, he sees nothing wrong with it, and vowed to “make their transition smooth.”

Governor Abbott announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon, “The first group of migrants bused to sanctuary city Philadelphia from Texas has departed. Philadelphia is now a drop-off location for Texas’ busing strategy combatting Pres. Biden’s border crisis.”
In a press release, Abbott announced, “The migrants will be dropped off at William H. Gray III 30th Street Station tomorrow morning. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney has long-celebrated and fought for sanctuary city status, making the city an ideal addition to Texas’ list of drop-off locations.”

Indeed, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney celebrated in a ditzy dance in 2018 when his city became a “sanctuary city.”

Now, Kenney is furious that Abbott has sent a bus load of illegal aliens to his city. He tweeted later on Tuesday:
Late this afternoon, the City received confirmation of roughly 30 individuals seeking asylum traveling to Philadelphia from Texas. As a proud welcoming city, Philadelphia will greet our newly arrived neighbors with dignity and respect.
It is disgusting that Governor Abbott’s administration continues to implement their purposefully cruel policy using immigrant families as political pawns.
@PhiladelphiaGov agencies and partners are working to welcome, assist, and provide support to these individuals and families.

Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday, Kenney’s outrage over the 28 illegal aliens being sent to his city grew louder.
“As you’re now all aware, earlier this morning, Philadelphia received its first bus of asylum seekers from Texas,” Kenney said, adding that “it was relayed to us last week that a bus of roughly 30 asylum seekers was expected to travel here from Del Rio, Texas.”
“This information was confirmed late yesterday, without coordination or warning, by Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s office through a press release. It is not just unproductive and disappointing, but downright irresponsible and callous to do this without coordination, showing blatant disregard for the sanctity of human lives,” he claimed.
“It is sad and outrageous that Governor Abbott and his administration continue to implement their cruel and racist policies using immigrant families, including children, as pawns to shamelessly push their warped political plan,” Kenney raged.

Progressive District Attorney Larry Krasner, who was just impeached by Pennsylvania state lawmakers on Wednesday, also blasted the busload of illegal aliens being sent from Texas.
“Philadelphia remains a sanctuary city, and we will proudly welcome the people sent here by @GovAbbott. However, anyone who has coerced or defrauded these migrants will be held accountable under the law,” Krasner fumed.

Abbott has vowed that more are on the way, saying Philadelphia will now be one of the “drop-off locations” for Texas’ busing strategy.
