The Trump campaign criticized President Biden and his administration for their handling of Easter and religious issues.
They called Biden’s declaration of Easter Sunday as Transgender Day of Visibility “appalling and insulting” to Christians.
“It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and declared Easter Sunday as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility,’” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said.
The campaign also took issue with the White House banning overtly religious artwork at its annual Easter Egg Roll event.
This came after Biden skipped a police officer’s wake to attend a fundraiser.
“We honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives,” Biden said.
“The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements,” First Lady Jill Biden’s event flyer stated.
The Trump campaign argued these moves show the Biden administration’s “assault on the Christian faith” and provide a contrast to how Trump respected religion.
They called on Biden to apologize for overshadowing Easter’s religious significance with the transgender visibility designation.
“Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Leavitt said.
