The mostly left-leaning talk show, “The View,” opened their segment on Monday with Alyssa Farah Griffin, a faux conservative, discussing the earthquakes in New York and New Jersey.
“So, what’s kind of crazy is that with the earthquake on Friday and then the eclipse today, people are having all sorts of conspiracies about the end of the world. And then I read online that the earthquake epicenter was actually at Bedminster in New Jersey,” Griffin remarked, as she associated one of his golf courses with the recent natural calamity.
“Fun fact. So it originated with Trump.”
Hostin then chimed in, saying that her makeup artist was about to leave the building when the earthquake happened.
“I have to say, Karen Dupiche, our wonderful makeup artist, when the earthquake was happening, she put her coat on, and she was like, ‘Jesus is coming. I’m out. I’m leaving. We got a solar eclipse. We got the earthquake,’” Hostin chimed in.
The host then discussed the recent proliferation of Cicadas with fellow hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, with Hostin concluding that it has to be caused by “climate change” or “something.”
“All those things together would maybe lead one to believe that either climate change exists or something is really going on,” Hostin said.
“Or Jesus is returning,” Farah Griffin joked.
Behar then lectured Hostin on earthquakes and climate change.
“Except earthquakes are not at the mercy of climate change,” she said to Hostin.
“It’s underground. It can’t.”
“How about the warming of the planet?” Hostin insisted.
“No, it happens,” Whoopi Goldberg argued.
“And the eclipse, they’ve known about the eclipse coming because eclipses happen, and they actually can say when these things are going to happen.”
On Monday, a complete solar eclipse occurred in the US, resulting in moments of total darkness in some places. Last week, aside from New Jersey and New York, a strong earthquake rippled in Taiwan.
Meanwhile, a recent news update reports the possible surge of a rare type of cicadas that only emerge every 13 and every 17 years this year.
But none of these events are related to global warming or climate change and are all brought about by natural causes.
The movement and friction of tectonic plates beneath the earth’s surface cause earthquakes, while a solar eclipse is caused by the orbit of the moon. Cicadas, on the other hand, are believed to have an internal body clock that allows them to have a sense of time.
