Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has made Michigan’s general election ballots.
This is especially bad news for President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign. Read on to see why.
Kennedy’s 2024 campaign announced that their candidate made Michigan’s ballots on Thursday. He was nominated by the Natural Law Party, which has ballot access in Michigan.
Thank you, Natural Law Party for nominating us to be on Michigan’s 2024 presidential ballot. 🙏 #KennedyShanahan24 🇺🇸 https://t.co/iI7JuLyfo8 pic.twitter.com/Vnxj3pfTVe

Here’s why this is a big deal:
While Kennedy does not have any real chance to win this year’s presidential election, he does have a real chance to swing the election one way or another.
It appears that the two main candidates who will be facing off against each other in this year’s election are Biden and former President Donald Trump, and it is looking extremely likely that Kennedy will take a significant number of votes away from Biden, making it easier for Trump to win.
Biden, according to Politico, is so concerned about this that his campaign is, in the outlet’s words, “mounting an aggressive effort to neutralize Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
So, the more ballots that Kennedy has, the harder it is going to be for Biden to get reelected. And, this is even more so with regard to states like Michigan.
Michigan, it has to be remembered, is a swing state. It could have a huge impact on the outcome of the 2024 election. So, the fact that Kennedy made this state’s ballot is extra bad news for Biden.
In related news . . .
Members of Kennedy’s own family have decided to endorse Biden for president.
NBC News reports, “More than a dozen members of the Kennedy family endorsed President Joe Biden for a second term Thursday, passing over family member Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
Kennedy responded to this news with a statement that he posted to his X account. In it, he attempted to spin the situation in his favor.
“I hear some of my family will be endorsing President Biden today. I am pleased they are politically active — it’s a family tradition. We are divided in our opinions but united in our love for each other,” Kennedy wrote.
He added, “I hold this as a possibility for America too. Can we disagree without hating our opponents? Can we restore civility and respect to public discourse? I think we can.”
