Former Florida Governor Bob Graham, has died at the age of 87.
Depending on who you ask, Bob Graham might be one of the most influential Democrats to ever come out of the state of Florida.
While it was unsuccessful, Bob Graham was most often remembered for his attempt at the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination, largely running on a platform of opposing the Iraq War.
That nomination would eventually end up going to John Kerry, who lost to George Bush in the only time Republicans have won the popular vote in America since Ronald Reagan was in office.
Bob Graham’s wife released a statement via the Tallahassee Democrat:
“We’re very attached and love him so much, so proud of him. He was an absolute devoted person in public service, to get things done for everybody.”
Prayers to all of Graham’s friends and family who are no doubt going through a difficult time right now.
There’s no question that many of America’s Democrats are right there with you in mourning.
