Former Disney (Groomers) star Demi Lovato emerged in an Alternative Press interview detailing her experience overcoming addiction. Lovato also noted her regret for producing several documentaries about her battle with drugs before she got her “s*** figured out.”
The childhood actress was undoubtedly introduced to a very unstable and possibly even toxic environment at a young age. Hollywood can be dangerous for anyone, especially children.
Many believe the show business industry has a negative impact on young stars. Demi Lovato, for example, went through suicide attempts, drug addiction, and a series of mental slips.
In the interview, the singer also touched on her fluctuating gender dysphoria, citing that she is a very “fluid person,” which sheds light on the star’s back and forth pronoun-swapping.
However, Lovato said that “sobriety” is the only thing that works for her now. “Honestly, I’m sick of watching myself, and I think other people probably are too…. And if they aren’t then they can watch my music videos.” So while the childhood actress has many continuing struggles, it is nice to hear her commitment to sobriety.
