Capital city discord saw one congressional figure scapegoating Republican Party disapproval on one outspoken GOP firebrand “dragging our brand down.”
As yet another piece of legislation made its way to President Joe Biden’s desk that satisfied his agenda despite the Republican’s control of the House of Representatives, the friendly fire kept coming from seemingly standing against the will of their conservative constituents.
Representing one of the dozens of Senate Republicans that joined the Democrats in passing the roughly $95 billion foreign aid package that included nearly $61 billion for Ukraine, North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis didn’t set his ire upon the status quo facilitation, but on Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for shining a light on it.
During an interview with CNN’s Lauren Fox, the audio of which was later aired on the corporate media network, Tillis could be heard in no uncertain terms voicing his distaste for Greene of late with a hefty charge about her negative influence.
“I think she’s uninformed. She is a total waste of time,” the senator said in a clip circulating social media that continued, “and I’m embarrassed to have actually lived geographically in her district at one time before she was there.”
“She is a horrible leader. She is dragging our brand down. She — not the Democrats — are the biggest risk to us getting back to a majority,” added Tillis.

Thom Tillis says MTG and co are biggest threat to GOP winning majorities. “She is dragging our brand down.”

The second-term North Carolina senator’s remarks followed Greene’s repeated vocal opposition to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership in the lower chamber that had brought her to file a motion to vacate.
Following the Louisiana Republican’s success at getting only a minority of his party to follow suit in support of the foreign aid package, the Georgia congresswoman had made clear heading into the latest recess that the speaker should see himself to the door.
“The American people agree with me…they are outraged,” Greene had told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo after singling out Johnson as a conduit for Washington, D.C.’s establishment class.
“Those that are calling this drama are the very people that are responsible for the drama that the American people are having to live through every single day,” she told the host in response to concerns over “making the entire party look like it’s disrupted.”

“Those on the left, those on the right, the uniparty that’s in control of our government are the ones that have inflicted the American people with nearly $35 trillion in debt, ripped our border wide open, and refused — Speaker Johnson refuses to use his power as speaker of the House to do any type of negotiating to secure the southern border and stop the madness in our country,” she had railed.
Greene’s remarks had followed her insistence that Johnson’s actions as speaker had amounted to nothing short of a betrayal of the country.
