Former Republican National Committee (Republican National Committee) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stepped down last month as criticism mounted over her leadership.
Politico reported that McDaniel’s departure was followed by a slew of Republican National Committee staffers even as new co-chair Lara Trump revealed a major new initiative.Â
Sixty Republican National Committee employees to be let got
According to the website, more than 60 employees who work in the Republican National Committee’s political, communications, and data departments are being shown the door.
This figure is said to include five unidentified senior Republican National Committee staffers. What’s more, contracts with certain vendors are also being axed.
Politico cited a letter sent by incoming chief operating officer Sean Cairncross in which he explained that the Republican National Committee is “in the process of evaluating the organization and staff to ensure the building is aligned.”
“During this process, certain staff are being asked to resign and reapply for a position on the team,” Cairncross went on to add.
Trump loyalists elevated to key Republican National Committee leadership positions
Politico argued that those developments are signs of the way in which former President Donald Trump has taken “operational control” over the Republican National Committee.
Other examples include McDaniel’s replacement as chair by former North Carolina GOP Chair Michael Whatley, who was endorsed by Trump. Further, Trump senior campaign adviser Chris LaCivita has taken over as Republican National Committee chief of staff.
During an interview with Newsmax last month, Mrs. Trump took aim at what she considered to be frivolous spending during McDaniel’s term, saying, “There will not be any more $70,000 or whatever exorbitant amount of money it was spent on flowers.”
“The Republican National Committee needs to be the leanest, most lethal political fighting machine we’ve ever seen in American history,” she insisted.
Lara Trump promises “massive resources” for new “election integrity division”
Meanwhile, Newsweek reported that Mrs. Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday that the Republican National Committee is prepared to expend “massive resources” on a new “election integrity division.”

“If people out there, Sean don’t feel like that their vote counts, they don’t trust the system that we have, then we are no longer the country we once thought we were,” the new Republican National Committee co-chair insisted.
Mrs. Trump went on to pledge, “We will have trained poll watchers, poll observers, poll workers, people in tabulation centers all across this country.”
