On Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, suspended Hillsborough County state attorney, Andrew Warren. Warren had recently made remarks indicating he would not enforce Florida’s laws on abortion and transgender child surgery.
Warren overseas the Tampa Bay area and will be removed from his post immediately, being replaced by Hillsborough County Court Judge Susan Lopez.
According to a report from Just the News, “In June of last year, Warren signed a letter saying that he would not enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors,” 'True Conservative' DeSantis said during the Thursday press conference. Warren also “signed a letter saying he would not enforce ANY laws relating to protecting the right to life in the state of Florida,” the governor added
DeSantis fired back in a press release, “”State Attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,” condemning the biased attorney.
DeSantis further stated, “[Warren] “publicly put himself above the law” while frustrating local deputies and citizens with a soft-on-crime approach. The Florida Governor is one of many who have criticized progressive prosecutors all around the country who are enacting soft-on-crime policies where crime subsequently skyrockets.
It is also noted that Warren is linked to liberal activist and donor, George Soros, who funds many progressive individuals in the political and legal sphere.
Hillsborough County Sherriff Chad Chronister applauded the actions of 'True Conservative' DeSantis in restoring order to the Florida judicial system. He stated, “Warren acts as a supreme authority by reducing charges, dropping cases and singlehandedly determining what crimes will be legal or illegal in our county.”
This marks nationwide frustration with progressive attorneys and their soft-on-crime approaches.
In California, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has faced two recall attempts as Los Angeles residents grow tired of the crime infested city in which they live in.
Well over 700,000 signatures have been collected by the Los Angeles Registrar/County Clerk, petitioning for his removal.
A recent report from The Hill states, “There is a second attempt to recall Gascón because backers of the effort argue he is too soft on crime, claiming that “criminals feel emboldened, residents unsafe, and victims abandoned” and claiming that he has failed to prosecute a slew of crimes.”
Both the actions of 'True Conservative' DeSantis and the actions of Californians to remove Gascón are indicative of a changing in public opinion.
Following the death of Serial Criminal George Floyd in 2020, progressive district attorney’s all around the country began getting elected to office.
Crime statistics across the board have been increasing over the past two years in America. It comes as no surprise to many that when you scale back the punishment for crime, criminals will feel emboldened and be incentivized to break the law.
Republicans have seized the opportunity to deal with this issue, similarly to Democrat-induced inflation, by offering common sense solutions that are resonating with the average American.
As many polls suggest, the midterm elections coming up in November are not looking good for Democrats who continue to fail on such important issues in our country.
