Fani Willis’ mounting scandals aren’t going unnoticed.
Willis is in a world of trouble.
And Jim Jordan hit Fani Willis with a curveball that is game over.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed Fani Willis demanding the Fulton County district attorney turn over records concerning allegations Willis fired a whistleblower who came forward with allegations of Willis’ office misusing federal funds.
The subpoena grew out of a Washington Free Beacon report where former Fulton County DA Office employee Amanda Timpson told Willis one of her aides, Michael Cuffee, allegedly planned to divert part of a $488,000 grant intended to build a Center of Youth Empowerment and Gang Prevention for personal use including the purchase of computers and travel.
The Free Beacon published excerpts of an audio recording Timpson made where she brought the allegations of wrongdoing to Willis’ attention.
“He wanted to do things with grants that were impossible, and I kept telling him, like, ‘We can’t do that,’” Timpson said in a 2021 meeting with Willis. “He told everybody … ‘We’re going to get MacBooks, we’re going to get swag, we’re going to use it for travel.’ I said, ‘You cannot do that, it’s a very, very specific grant.’”
The recording showed Willis agreed.
“I respect that is your assessment,” Willis stated. “And I’m not saying that your assessment is wrong.”
But Willis fired Timpson and Timpson said seven armed officers escorted her out of the building in an act of intimidation.
Jordan’s letter demanded Willis turn over records and documents as part of a constitutionally authorized oversight investigation.
“Instead of using these federal grant funds for the intended purpose of helping at-risk youths, your office sought to use the grant funds to ‘get Macbooks … swag … [and] use it for travel,’” Jordan wrote.
“Moreover, the whistleblower’s direct supervisor stated that these planned expenditures ‘were part of [your] vision.’… These allegations raise serious concerns about whether you were appropriately supervising the expenditure of federal grant funding allocated to your office and whether you took actions to conceal your office’s unlawful use of federal funds,” Jordan added.
Timpson told the Free Beacon her case is similar to Willis’ current scandal where she stands accused of hiring her lover Nathan Wade to serve as special prosecutor on the Trump witch hunt.
Wade billed the taxpayers for $654,000 in work and faces allegations that he paid kickbacks to Willis in the form of paying for the couple to travel on high-priced vacations.
“My case and Nathan Wade’s case are very similar when you break them down point by point,” Timpson said in an interview with the Free Beacon. “Ethical violations, abuse of power, and the misuse of county, state, and federal funds.”
The scandal and stink surrounding the politically motivated indictment Willis brought against Trump are growing by the day.
And the odds are growing that this case will never get to trial.
