“If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree. If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the public press lacks moral discrimination, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the world loses its interest in religion, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it. If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it. Let us not ignore this fact, my dear brethren; but let us lay it to heart, and be thoroughly awake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this nation.” -Charles Finney
So, this is to what it comes: Those who call themselves Christians in this country are so biblically illiterate that they are now asking why does God allow bad things to happen to the children (Hosea 4:6)? Let me answer the question in this way, blaming God for evil is like blaming the sun for darkness!
Yet, I can also answer this question by pointing to the responsible party as to why bad things happen in general.
“The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scripture ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evil men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.” -Noah Webster
Friends, our rights come from God. Listen to the Declaration of Independence.
The Lord establishes the institution called government (Exodus 18:25). “We the People,” which is in the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, under God, are the government.
Corruption in this government does not have a right to murder children because GOD AND COMMON LAW FORBID IT (Exodus 20:13). They are to condemn the crimes and justify the righteous (Deuteronomy 25:1). This starts by the Church being that law (Isaiah 42:21; Psalm 40:7; Matthew 5:17; Hebrews 8:10, 10:7; Romans 3:31).
The bottom line is that Lord will judge this nation for the murder of 63 million babies because the professed Christians do nothing more than act as if it was someone else’s responsibility when it comes to putting a lawful stop to it (Hosea 4:6).
Corruption in the Church and in the government do not have a right to make a prey of our children.
Exodus 22:22-24 tells us:
“Ye shall not afflict any… fatherless child. If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry; And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.”
Luke 17:2 tells us, “It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”
Yet, the Church in this country sits back and tolerates these crimes? Don’t blame the government for what it is that men tolerate because they are only doing what you are allowing them to do (Jeremiah 5:28).
No, the American version of Christianity lacks obedience to the commands given unto her by the Lord (Deuteronomy 28:63).
This is not what our forefathers did. As a matter of fact, they did just the opposite of what we see today (Hebrews 13:7).
This is NOT the Lord’s fault. This is the disobedient hypocrites in the belly of the Church and the criminals in government that they tolerate who are at fault.
Our sin, Americans, is finding us out (Numbers 32:23).
The American professed Christians are doing this to themselves because the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain (Exodus 20:7). So, don’t blame Him for that which you are responsible.
