Leonel Moreno, the “migrant influencer” who mocked America on social media and encouraged migrants to squat in the homes of US citizens, is facing potential federal firearms charges, The Post has exclusively learned.
Internal federal documents reviewed by The Post show the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been in contact with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regarding Moreno, and is mulling charges against him.
The exact charges are not known, but sources said they would likely be brought under a section of the Gun Control Act which prohibits those on parole from possessing, shipping, transporting or receiving firearms or ammunition.

Illegal immigrant who tells other illegals to squat in U.S. homes is facing potential federal gun charges according to the New York Post. Internal federal documents say ICE is considering filing charges against Leonel Moreno.
In one of his Instagram posts, Moreno is touring around a gun store, checking out guns. He mentioned multiple times that “only us Americans” can get guns.
Last week, Moreno was arrested after not following the rules in the Alternatives to Detention program. Moreno failed to appear at required check-ins.
The illegal immigrant is also allegedly under investigation for using his young daughter as a prop.

ICE had released the following statement on March 29, announcing they had arrested Moreno:
Leonel Moreno is an unlawfully present citizen of Venezuela, who illegally entered the country April 23, 2022. Moreno was placed into the ATD program by Border Patrol and was told to report to Enforcement and Removal Operations office within 60 days of arriving at his destination. Moreno did not report as required.
On March 29, 2024, Moreno was arrested in Gahanna, Ohio by officers with ERP Detroit’s Columbus office and is currently detained pending further immigration proceedings.
In his daily viral videos, Moreno had bragged about receiving $350 a week in handouts from the U.S. government, and said he is making over $1,000 a day as a TikTok influencer, Fox News reported.
He also mocked people who work for a living, saying in one video, “You’re hurt because I make more than you without much work while you work like slaves, understand? That’s the difference between you and me. I’m always going to make lots of money without much work, and you’re always going to be exploited and miserable and insignificant.”
Below is the video that recently went viral and exposed Moreno’s plot, in which he encouraged “fellow Venezuelans” to take over homes of Americans.
