Police in Florida are investigating what they say is a double murder and attempted suicide in a Plantation home on Tuesday.
Plantation Police said a mother and her child were found dead in the home, and the father was taken to a hospital for a drug overdose, according to WTVJ.
He is the suspect in the double murder. Police said the victims died by “traumatic means,” WSVN reported.
Police did not provide any other information about the victims. WTVJ reported that the home is owned by Jean Carlos Aponte and Sara Gama, and neighbors told the station that the mother and father lived in the home with a toddler and a newborn.
According to WPLG, the man was in critical condition at the hospital. A neighbor said the parents live at the home with a 2-year-old boy and a 3-month-old baby. He reported seeing medics taking the father away but did not see the mother or the toddler.
“I saw the 3-month-old baby with the grandparents, that’s all I’ve seen,” he said.
