Not every store in the US has the Xbox Series X in stock for $499 in June 2022. Amazon has yet to sell the console for MSRP for that twice in 2022. It may be waiting to launch more of its inventory as part of its Amazon Prime Day deals. And if you’re wondering When is Amazon Prime Day, look no further – it’s in July, so not long away.
The same goes for Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop online hasn’t been selling the new video game system for MSRP and sometimes point you to either pre-owned instead of new Series X consoles or third-party resellers are sell for more than $499. However, all three stores have had a PS5 restock in recent weeks.

Pro tip: Microsoft Store states that the Xbox Series X price is $499, but that you need to bundle it with other items. It turns out that going through the checkout system will not require you to buy the highly suggested Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 12-month membership – and that’s good news because you can get a discount elsewhere on the $45 a month membership. The Series X console is sold by itself despite the confusing language.
Since an Amazon PS5 restock is expected soon, Microsoft Xbox Series X may also appear on Amazon around July 12 or July 13.

Xbox Series X news for June 2022
Microsoft has seen less demand for Xbox Series X restock in the United States, which is the opposite of what we’ve seen from the PS5 restock events until recently. Sony’s PS5 sales missed their prior forecast, and while Microsoft isn’t immune to soft console sales numbers in 2022, it’s not in bad shape when it comes to supply.
That could always change in the future. The Xbox Series X price among resellers is expected to climb in the fall of 2022 due to increased demand. Specifically, during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you’ll see demand rise and Microsoft may have a difficult time keeping up its Series X inventory.

Is the Halo Xbox Series X console in stock
No, we haven’t seen the Halo Xbox Series X Limited Edition console in stock in 2022 outside of a few special email invites from Microsoft Store. Those emails seem to be sent randomly to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscribers. But I do know that some retailers have the Halo Xbox console in stock – but they haven’t revealed plans to launch a Halo Infinite Xbox Series X restock yet.

Target Xbox Series X restock dates are difficult to explain, so please pay attention: restocks happen locally at a few stores and the consoles are usually found in the mornings. It’s become impossible for me and others to track them down.
It used to be an online-only purchase with pickups happening in stores, but recently Target shifted away from this and you can get the entire transaction done in stores.

Microsoft has recently started to send out email invites to purchase a console bundle, but it hasn’t fixed its website. Look out for an email from the company, and count yourself lucky. It’s gone the Sony Direct PS5 queue invite email route, which has proved to be fair for consumers.
In 2021, the Microsoft Store Xbox Series X restock time was fairly predictable, but often overrun with bots. We often still see the add-to-cart button light up in Xbox-themed green on Thursday nights at 5pm EST or 6pm EST, but for weeks at a time, no one was able to check out with the console until they switched to email invites.

Walmart was consistently selling Xbox Series X earlier in 2022, but it hasn’t sold the console alongside its monthly PlayStation 5 restock in several weeks. The PS5 Disc console is always more plentiful, I can report thanks to my exclusive data, while the Xbox Series X has come in a distant second. This has meant thousands of people were able to purchase the Microsoft console using my alerts – supply is there for the console.
Walmart always takes longer to deliver the PS5 to so many people who purchase it so the Walmart Xbox restocks don’t happen as frequently as they could if the consoles didn’t drop in pairs.

Every GameStop Xbox restock in-store event seems to have the console longer and longer, which means demand has been met and supply has increased. The only time we see Xbox Series X sell out in March 2022 is when it’s sold at MSRP (which GameStop never does to date).
It’s a step in the right direction, and what I can tell you is that GameStop has recently been splitting its Xbox Series X console inventory between stores (in December) and online (in January), whereas the PS5 has almost exclusively been sold in stores.
When the Xbox Series X is on sale at GameStop, it’s always in bundle form and starts out intended for PowerUp Pro Rewards members only. Usually, consoles sell out before the hour expires and anyone else has a crack at it.

Your next chance to buy an Xbox Series X is likely going to be from Best Buy, but there are two things you’ll need to know beforehand…
Best Buy likes to do Monday restocks for Totaltech members, and it’s overdue to offer the console through its $199/year program (it comes with other stuff like tech support and extended warranties). It needs to cater to the people who bought into Totaltech during Black Friday, and it’s been a while since it had a Totaltech Xbox drop.
Second, it’s becoming increasingly easy to get Xbox, so you may not even need a Totaltech membership if you’re fast enough – and the Xbox happens to be available for online purchase from your store (it’s an online purchase with in-store pickup a few days later).

The Amazon Xbox Series X restock dates were few and far between in 2021, and I expect nothing different from the retailer in 2022. That’s because it has favored offering the Sony PS5 console monthly just after the 20th of almost every month, and has completely skipped over the Xbox Series X in the latter half of 2021 except for three dates. That’s right – just three. And so far in 2022, there’s been only one restock date at Amazon for the Xbox Series X: March 31, 2022.
What I know is that Amazon is popular with both consumers and scripted bots. Meaning that even with the retailer’s Prime-member-only barrier to entry, you’re going to have to be fast with my Xbox Series X restock alerts to nab this one.
