Lara Trump, the new co-chair of the Republican National Committee (Republican National Committee), declared that the GOP achieved its “best fundraising weekend” on Wednesday.
“I am proud to announce that last weekend the GOP had the largest digital fundraising weekend since 2020. Much more to come… we are just getting started!” the daughter-in-law to former President Trump posted on X.
Though Lara Trump did not specify the amount, social media users see this announcement as a good sign considering the Republican National Committee’s previous co-chair Ronna McDaniel had come under fire for lavish spending while only winning a few races, The Post Millennial reports.
“I think that the change in leadership at the Republican National Committee has really inspired a lot of people to give. This past weekend we had our best fundraising weekend since 2020,” Trump said in an interview with Newsmax.

Trump’s fundraising victory lap comes just days after the Republican National Committee axed more than 60 individuals as part of a significant overhaul, signaling a shakeup under new leadership.
Trump has been vocal about a strategic revitalization since assuming her new role as Republican National Committee co-chair. She has emphasized the importance of instilling trust in the electoral process, stating, “we can never allow what happened in 2020 and the questions surrounding that election to ever happen again.”
Trump has also talked about introducing legal ballot harvesting to the Republican National Committee as one of her top priorities.
“We’ve been playing checkers, and the Democrats have been playing chess,” Trump stated earlier this month.
