Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) endorsed what now appears to be the Democratic party’s policy of regime change in Israel when he defended remarks by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) calling for new elections.
Faced with the loss of political power over their pro-Hamas base’s anger over the lack of a ceasefire in Gaza, the highest-ranking Jewish official in the U.S. delivered an unprecedented speech effectively demanding the ouster of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week.
On Sunday, the scheming congressman made his usual appearance on CNN where he had Schumer’s back, telling Dana Bash that while he “probably wouldn’t have gone as far” as the New York Democrat did, his message should be a warning shot to America’s vital Middle East ally and should cause an “earthquake” in Israel.

After first putting the blame for the hostilities in Gaza on Hamas, Schiff told Bash, “And while I wouldn’t go as far as the leader in setting out the timing of elections, the fact that Israel’s most staunch defender in the U.S. Congress, Chuck Schumer, should be making these remarks should be an earthquake in Israel.”
Schiff also insisted that the only acceptable solution in the region is a “two-state solution” and managed to wedge in a shameless plug for tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer money for Ukraine before he was done.
Schumer’s call for new elections in the midst of Israel’s war on the terrorists was a clear effort to interfere in the internal politics of the Jewish democracy and came at a critical time for President Joe Biden whose reelection hopes could hinge on getting Michigan Muslims back in line.
Over 100,000 Michigan Democrats voted “uncommitted” in last month’s primary as a protest against the administration’s lack of action in Gaza and while they are unlikely to vote for presumptive GOP nominee Donald J. Trump this fall, they could stay home in sufficient numbers to swing the election to the former president.
With the domestic political implications, it is increasingly looking like ousting Netanyahu is the unofficial policy of the Democratic party and perhaps Biden himself, who last week complimented Schumer for a “good speech” when asked by reporters.

Netanyahu also appeared on the Sunday morning shows where he reacted to Schumer’s demand that booted from office.

“Chuck Schumer is the highest-ranking Jewish elected official here in America, a staunch supporter of Israel, what’s your response?” Bash asked the Israeli leader who also appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
“I think what he said is totally inappropriate,” Netanyahu responded. “It’s inappropriate…to go to a sister democracy and try to replace the elected leadership there. That’s something that Israel, the Israeli public does on its own and we’re not a banana republic.”
“I think only the government that we should be working to bring down now is the terrorist tyranny in Gaza, the Hamas tyranny that murdered over a thousand Israelis including some, dozens of Americans, and is holding Americans and Israelis hostage,” he continued. “That’s what we should be focused on.”
“And as far as what Senator Schumer said, the majority of Israelis support our governments,” Netanyahu said, citing the numbers in both Israel and America before adding, “This is a wake-up call to Senator Schumer, the majority of Israelis support the policies of my government. It’s not a fringe government, it represents the policies supported by the majority of the people.”
“If Senator Schumer opposes these policies, he’s not opposing me, he’s opposing the people of Israel,” he concluded, sending the message to the meddlesome Democrat that he needs to butt out.
