Former Vice President Mike Pence was condemned by a far-left CNN host Friday for rejecting former President Donald Trump’s 2024 reelection campaign in a way that was too “impotent.”
Just the fact that he refused to endorse Trump should have been enough for CNN’s virulently anti-Trump hosts, yet it wasn’t.
Indeed, according to CNN’s S.E. Cupp, Pence’s complaint to Fox News that he now disagrees with Trump’s policy prescriptions was a “cop-out.”
Listen:
“Pinning the reason on policy disagreements feels a bit like a cop-out, to say he is now at odds with the conservative agenda,” she said. “Trump has always been at odds with a conservative agenda, whether that was the debt and the deficit, limited government, family values, protectionism. Mike Pence seemed to be fine with all of that.”
“And, in fact, Donald Trump exploded the debt and the deficit with Mike Pence’s help. It’s just crazy to me that Mike Pence can’t say [that] after all of this time now that he’s made it official he’s not endorsing him,” she added.
Cupp continued by spouting a list of Democrat Party-approved talking points about Trump’s otherwise successful presidency.
“It’s because Donald Trump is dangerous. It’s because he led an insurrection. It’s because he’s corrupt. It’s because he’s facing criminal indictments. It’s because he’s anti-America and anti-democratic,” she claimed.
“[Pence] can’t say all the very obvious things. He has to say they now have policy disagreements. It’s just so mealy-mouthed and a pretty, I think, impotent way to end what was once a pretty promising political career for Mike Pence,” she added.
In response to Cupp’s condemnation of Trump, CNN host Wolf Blitzer asked her whether Pence’s rejection could “potentially impact independent voters.” Cupp suspected the answer was no.
“Pence has no constituency,” she argued. “He’s really irrelevant in the Republican Party. And listen, I mean, a bunch of us are, but he’s made himself irrelevant because in carrying Trump’s water, he turned off principled conservatives like me.”
“But in not carrying it all the way across the finish line on January 6th, he became traitorous to the rest of the MAGA Republican Party. So, I’m not sure his opinion matters all that much,” she added.
“And for independents and moderates, they’re certainly not taking their lead from Mike Pence’s political compass, because we’ve not really seen it point due north this entire time,” Cupp concluded.
Her lengthy denunciation of Trump and Pence came hours after the former VP told Fox News “The Story” host Martha MacCallum that he won’t be endorsing Trump this election cycle.
Listen:
“It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year,” he said. “Look, I’m incredibly proud of the record of our administration. It was a conservative record that made America more prosperous, more secure, and saw conservatives appointed to our courts in a more peaceful world.”
“But that being said, during my presidential campaign, I made it clear that there were profound differences between me and President Trump on a range of issues. And not just our difference on my constitutional duties that I exercised on January 6th,” he added.
Pence continued by accusing Trump of “walking away from our commitment to confronting the national debt,” “starting to shy away from a commitment to the sanctity of human life,” and reversing “on getting tough on China” by opposing an effort to ban TikTok.
All this prompted MacCallum to ask why he thought Trump was opposing the TikTok ban.
“Well, I can’t speculate on it, but what I can tell you is that in each of these cases, Donald Trump is pursuing and articulating an agenda that is at odds with the conservative agenda that we governed on during our four years,” Pence replied. “And that’s why I cannot in good conscience endorse Donald Trump in this campaign.”
The rejection of Trump inspired outrage on social media.

Judas, Judas Pence.

Mike Pence, Liz Cheney and Nikki Haley are helping extremist Democrats win in November. The Republican party has no future with people like this in it.
