The White House and President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice are working overtime to downplay the president’s ongoing impeachment inquiry led by House Republicans.
One aspect of the impeachment inquiry revolves around subpoenas regarding Hunter Biden that the DOJ and the Biden administration keep blowing off.
According to Politico, that came to a head this week after a federal, Biden-appointed judge expressed her thoughts on the matter, literally asking Biden’s DOJ, “Are you kidding me?”
U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes of the federal District Court in Washington torched the Justice Department over its response — or lack thereof — regarding Hunter Biden-related subpoenas.
What did she say?
Judge Reyes made a solid, undisputable point when criticizing the administration’s response to the subpoena, noting that a former aide to former President Donald Trump is literally sitting in jail at this very moment for defying congressional subpoenas.
“There’s a person in jail right now because you all brought a criminal lawsuit against him because he did not appear for a House subpoena,” the judge said.
She added, “And now you guys are flouting those subpoenas. … And you don’t have to show up?”

“Are you kidding me?” -Judge Reyes
Those are four words that no lawyer wants to hear from a judge in a hearing. But that was not the least of it for Justice Department lawyers fighting House subpoenas into the Biden corruption scandal.

Reyes wasn’t done there, as she doubled down on her criticism of what’s unfolding in the case.
“I think it’s quite rich you guys pursue criminal investigations and put people in jail for not showing up, but then direct current executive branch employees to take the same approach,” the judge added. “You all are making a bunch of arguments that you would never accept from any other litigant.”
She tore into them
Reyes continued to question the lawyers representing the DOJ, explaining to them that their arguments are ludicrous, at best.
“I imagine that there are hundreds, if not thousands of defense attorneys … who would be happy to hear that DOJ’s position is, if you don’t agree with a subpoena, if you believe it’s unconstitutional or unlawful, you can unilaterally not show up,” the judge said.
She made a great point, as Peter Navarro, a former aide to Trump, defied a congressional subpoena and was sentenced to four months in prison and slapped with nearly a $10K fine.
The double standard of justice within the ranks of the Biden administration is currently on full display, and even their own appointed judges are crying foul at this point.
