WrestleMania Night One ended with The Rock pinning Cody Rhodes. Though more upset than Rhodes is for now having to face Roman Reigns in Night Two under “Bloodlines Rules” are the Biden Crybabies upset because The Rock regrets endorsing Joe Biden. Not only does he regret endorsing Joe Biden, but he won’t endorse him in 2024. Not only does he regret endorsing him and won’t endorse him this year, but he laid this particular Smackdown on Fox News.
I’ll try to keep the excessive wrestling references to a manageable amount. But it’s WrestleMania weekend, and I lack self-control.
We covered The Rock’s comments to Will Cain on Friday. Here is an artist’s rendition of what he said:
Does this mean The Rock is on our side? No, as more than a few people on Right-Wing Twitter who need to pull the metal rod out of their ass will tell you. If that sounds like you, lighten up Francis. Sometimes you just need to sit back and enjoy a gift granted by the deity or deities of content for what it is.
This is not the first time The Rock cut a promo on politics. He told Joe Rogan he doesn’t know anyone who likes Joe Biden. Expect more think pieces like this one.
The Left isn’t handling the new well. John Fugelsang, a guy who used to be on VH1 but now just complains about people who disagree with him, listed a bunch of low-information talking points he’s upset The Rock isn’t validating for him anymore, before adding “In Related News, Rock Seriously OK with Another Deep Tax Cut for His Particular Bracket.”
@JoJoFromJerz, who I’m still not sure what she does thought she has close to a million followers, dragged The Rock’s kids into it, adding, “Betraying your country for shameless self-promotion is about as bad as it gets.”
A guy who claims to be “The Most Censored Man on the Left” is upset that now “right-wing accounts will be using this up until November to sow doubt through Dwayne Johnson’s influence, [The People’s Champion} screwed Biden and gave the GOP a soundbite to abuse.”
And what’s left of Keith Olbermann had this to say: “Who knew @TheRock was such a greedy coward?”
Let The Rock tell you what he think of all the Biden Crybabies:
Regretfully, no one asked Karine Jean Pierre on Friday how it feels to lose The Rock’s endorsement. Doocy had more important things to ask about, I guess.
In the grand scheme of Election 2024, The Rock’s comments won’t move the needle in the micro. This a fun news cycle. The macro? The Rock has a team of about 200 people around him. Someone told him being viewed as on the same side as Biden is bad for his brand. It’s not noteworthy when a popular celebrity endorses a Democrat. It’s only noteworthy when one of the top stars in America makes an active attempt to say he won’t.
