Rep. Thomas Massie was threatened with a $500 fine after he published a video of Democrats waving the Ukrainian flag in the halls of Congress.
Massie published the video to the social media platform X last Saturday, the same day that the House voted to pass a $95 foreign aid bill for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

Three days later, Massie revealed in a tweet that the House Sergeant at Arms had threatened to fine him if he didn’t delete the video.
“Instead of fining democrats for waving flags, the House Sergeant at Arms just called and said I will be fined $500 if I don’t delete this video post. Mike Johnson really wants to memory hole this betrayal of America,” he wrote.

Notice how he tried to blame Speaker Mike Johnson, a fellow Republican, for the House Sergeant at Arms’ threat.
The bombshell revelation sparked backlash, with critics assailing the House Sergeant at Arms and Johnson.
Look:
They should be fined and kicked out for betraying the American people. Since when did Ukraine become the 51st state of the U.S.

What a disgrace! Now they want to HIDE it? Expel them all!
Seeing Congressmen waving Ukrainian flags like children while our border is wide open, and they have done NOTHING to protect the American people makes me angry as hell!
For Democrats, it’s Ukraine first, America last.

This was a shameful display in the People’s House.
Let’s not let Mike Johnson sweep this under the rug.— Tom Bonjour (@TomBonjour5) April 23, 2024

But to the speaker’s credit, he reached out to the House Sergeant at Arms and worked out an agreement saving Massie from a $500 fine.
“Upon viewing Rep. Massie’s tweet, our team reached out to the Sergeant at Arms. I do not agree with this assessment and there will be no fine imposed on Rep. Massie,” Johnson revealed in a tweet of his own.

But surprisingly, the speaker’s tweet prompted pushback as well, with critics saying they didn’t believe him given as he’d orchestrated last week’s passage of yet another giant foreign aid bill.
“I don’t believe Speaker Johnson for a second,” one critic tweeted. “The only reason he’s cancelling the fine against Massie is because of the outrage over it on social media. Why should we believe Johnson?”
“He lied about releasing all the J6 footage and securing the border. And he keeps funding Biden and letting him spy on us. Johnson can’t be trusted,” the critic added.

You’re weak as Hell….. you let these leftists wave Ukrainian flags in the people’s house….. they’re walking all over you

You had tremendous leverage to get a deal on the border and you gave it away for nothing. That makes you just the latest in a long, forgettable line of mediocre, failed GOP Speakers.

The vote shouldn’t have happened, our representatives betraying us shouldn’t have happened, the flags shouldn’t have happened, and even taking into consideration a fine for @RepMassie shouldn’t have happened. Are we clear here?

Who are you are?! You are NOT the same conservative, Christian leader…time to step down. You lied to us. You said you would NEVER pass another Ukraine bill until our border was secure…you have done nothing but lie and I am tired of listening.
