Now, Governor J.B. Pritzker is touting the anticipated overturning of Roe v. Wade as a sweet business opportunity for Illinois.
Some state and city officials believe:
[R]reversing the landmark decision would help Illinois attract businesses eager to recruit young workers with socially progressive views.
But the Governor seems particularly enthused about taking the prospect a leap further:
This is another arrow in our quiver…We are always talking to companies about coming to Illinois, but this is another powerful point of discussion.
Imagine the ad: Chicago–Come for the abortion, stay for the crime!
Final thought, sharing an announcement: Caterpillar is moving its global headquarters out of Illinois. The formerly Peoria-based company announced the company’s existing offices in Irving, Texas, will become its new headquarters from the current location of Deerfield, Illinois.
Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Jim Umpleby said:
We believe it’s in the best strategic interest of the company to make this move, which supports Caterpillar’s strategy for profitable growth as we help our customers build a better, more sustainable world.
