Here is the latest news on candidate filings since the candidate filing deadline last Tuesday March 13th:
• Oregon State Senator Art Robinson is exiting his seat. His son, Noah Robinson is running to replace him as well as State Representative Christine Goodwin.
• U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed former Multnomah County Commissioner Susheela Jayapal for Oregon’s 3rd Congressional District being vacated by Earl Blumenauer.
• Oregon State Senator Brian Boquist announced for State Treasurer. He will face Sen. Elizabeth Steiner, D-Portland and former Lake Oswego City Councilor Jeff Gudman.
• Oregon State Senator Dennis Linthicum announced for Secretary of State. The Republican former Congressional candidate Nate Sandvig has dropped out.
• Former House Republican Majority Leader Christine Drazan is runnign for her old House seat against incumbent Representative James Heib.
• Four Republicans have filed to run for the Oregon State Senate Seat #29 being vacated by Senator Bill Hansell. The four candidates are Jim Doherty, Dave Drotzman, Andy Huwe, Todd Nash. Congresswoman Lori-Chavez DeRemer has endorsed Drotzman.
• Redmond School Board Chair Michael Summers has jumped in at the last minute to run to replace the outgoing Senator Tim Knopp. Democrat City Counilor Anthony Broadman has filed on the Democrat side.
